Carmen Hudson, MD, FACS, CWSP
Dr. Hudson says she has been fortunate to practice general surgery, take some time to raise her two children, and develop a love for chronic wound care. A practice that was supposed to be a steppingstone back into surgery captivated her with its multidisciplinary needs, hands-on treatment, and varied patient population. The unique nature of wound care treatment allows her to get to know her patients better. She adds that providing care onsite in a skilled nursing facility benefits everyone working to heal the wound.
In her free time, Carmen enjoys running, coaching, and supporting girls and young women through organization such as Girls on the Run. She likes to travel and has served on a medical relief team for the Nepal Quake and participated in fundraising for women-empowering organizations in low to mid-income countries.
